About Nagoya Christian School
A welcoming community where students thrive spiritually and academically
Who We Are
Nagoya Christian School was established in 2020 to provide a high-quality, grace-based Christian education for missionary families serving in Nagoya, Japan. We also warmly welcome other Christian families who desire a Christ-centered learning environment.
As of the 2025–2026 school year, we offer in-person classes for grades 1 through 9, with the goal of expanding to serve grades 1–12 in the future. Our aim is to be a welcoming community where students thrive spiritually and academically.
We are a ministry of the Mission to the World Nagoya Church Planting Team and are sponsored by Mission to the World and the Japan Presbyterian Mission — gospel-centered organizations with a long-standing legacy of church planting and ministry in Japan.

Our Foundations

FAITH
We are a Covenantal School
Our faith guides our beliefs and practices as an educational community and unites us through the redemptive power of Jesus Christ. We believe that God has called us out of this world and that our children are precious to Him. We claim the promises of the Bible for our children and believe that they have entered into a covenant relationship with God through the work of Jesus Christ.

FAMILY
We are Part of a Christ-Centered Community
We believe that parents are the primary source of spiritual and moral training for their children, and that schools can partner with parents to help fulfill this responsibility. We seek to engage families in the educational process and support them as they train up their children. We believe the relationship of Home, Church, and School all work together in community for the advancement of Christ’s Church.

MISSION
We are on Mission
We believe that through education, we are preparing our children to take their place in Christ’s Church throughout the world and are instilling in them the need to proclaim the gospel to every tribe and nation. Nagoya Christian School exists to support the church-planting efforts of Mission to the World by meeting the educational, spiritual, and social needs of missionary families in Nagoya.
Our Curriculum
We offer an exceptional English-based curriculum through Sonlight, taught by qualified and experienced Christian teachers. We also provide Japanese language instruction taught by native Japanese teachers.
Students in grades 1 through 12 attend in-person classes Tuesday through Friday each week. Mondays are dedicated homeschool days, during which students complete assignments given by NCS teachers. We deeply value our partnership with parents and ask that families remain actively involved in their children’s education — especially on these homeschool days. This is a cherished part of our school culture.
